Mission:
Lower Decks
Location: Unnamed Class O Planet
[Bay Side, Clothing Optional Beach]
Among the first to touch down on the sandy beach was the diminutive Rebecca, the science officer and all around portable officer. She must have mistaken one landing site for the other, though, because that looming billboard of a sign clearly said 'Clothing Optional', and while she'd never feel OVER dressed in anything, she was still wearing a micro, micro bikini. "Oh well, it says optional. Not mandatory nudity. Still though, Rebecca, you're going to see some WILD things today." she psyched herself up, getting ready to see some of her crew in ways never before expected. She laid out her doll-sized towel and umbrella, mostly as a beacon to any other beach-goers, and settled in. There was NO way she was going in the water alone.
Kally had returned to the ship after the survey to change and tell Katie the good news. Both Katie and Jadizon had known immediately where Kally would be going, and she told them she wouldn't be hurt if they opted to go off by themselves, but she might have to hunt them down later. As the transporter beam left her, she took a deep, deep breath of real air. "Oh God, I've needed that," she sighed. She had a pair of shorts and a tshirt on along with a pair of sandals. She walked down the beach, looking around and spied the person she'd most wanted to see. "Captain on the shore," she said, saluting and smiling.
Cally had been one of the first ones down and set up, because well... Captain's prerogative and she'd 'Had to make sure it was safe for the rest of her crew.' Or at least that had been her excuse to Alex when she'd showed up to the transporter room with towel and sunscreen in hand, wearing a skimpy swimsuit, robe and sunglasses. Even though she'd shed those almost instantly. Now she glanced over her sunglasses at Kally. "I don't see any Captain around here, this is a strictly no-rank beach, Kellerman!"
"Oh well, in that case, I stand corrected," Kally said, grinning. She quickly spread out a towel and shucked her own outfit, folding it and putting it in her tote. She sat down and pulled out her solar spray, covering herself briskly on all sides, then lying down next to Cally. "I'm glad you're taking time to relax," she said. "You've needed it." She patted her hand.
"I really do need it!" Cally agreed quickly, accepting the consolation offered with seeming humility, "I'm glad that I've got a proper medical diagnosis and medical observation to make sure that I relax properly."
"Hey." Rebecca's voice came up from the sand below, looking up, up, up at Kally and ... Cally. God that was a statement that only made clarity on paper. The two looming giants towered over the diminutive officer. "Excuse me, you're blocking the SUN~" she called up teasing. She was having too much of a good time enjoying actual sunlight, actual air, and actual breeze. Her giggle afterwards said it all: All in good fun.
Cally looked down at the tiny woman, "Well, if you'd like I could give you a better view of the rays? Some elevation means you could also get a good look at the ocean." It was more teasing right back, but also an offer because she was well.. That sort of person, always helpful.
Kally snickered. "You beat me to it," she said. She gently pulled Rebecca's towel up closer to their shoulders, putting her back in the sun, though still no view of the ocean. "Katie send her love, by the way," Kally said. "Not sure if she'll be joining us here or running off elsewhere."
Rebecca gave Kally and.... Cally a rolled eye glance in total, "So now it's a contest to see which *sand dunes* I'm snuggled in. I gotcha~" She giggled, not saying no, but no committing.
The hum of a transporter beam sounded nearby once again, and Starfleet’s lone (as far as she knew) Draakri materialized on the beach, wearing a knee-length tunic very similar to the one she’d worn to the Halloween party—except this time she didn’t have the holo-harness rig disguising her natural anatomy as an ‘actual’ winged reptile. She spotted the Capt—no, she corrected herself, Cally—and...one of the Kellermans not far from the transport site, and given the personalities of the twins, she took a somewhat-educated guess that this was Kally. “Ahoy!” she called, waving and walking over to them.
Rebecca gave Rala a wave. The smallest officer, waving up to among the tallest. That was a sight.
Kally looked up and grinned. "Hey, Rala! Welcome to the party! We're engaging in a human tradition known as 'doing absolutely fucking nothing because it's a beach.' Join us!"
A moment later, the transporter sounded again and a second Kellerman appeared, officially reaching the planet's quota. Katie squealed happily at the sight of the beach and rushed forward, hopping over Rala's tail to see the water. "Oh, excellent!" she said, looking out to the horizon. She turned and grinned at everyone. "Hey!" she said, happily. She dropped her gear and spread out a towel as well next to Kally, joining the others and carefully removing and folding her things before putting them in her bag.
Kally jumped up and hugged her mirror tightly. "You're in a good mood," she said with a sly grin. "Jadizon too tired to join?"
Katie blushed a bit and shrugged demurely. "We had a nice morning together. He's got some things to do, and he might go off with some of his friends for a bit after his shift," Katie said. "He may join us after that, though." Her eyes twinkled. "But meanwhile....this is fantastic! We need all the holo-images so we can have the holodeck recreate it later."
Rala set down the small bag she’d brought and unrolled her extra-large towel near Cally, on her unoccupied side, before shucking the tunic to reveal that she was already nude underneath it, save for the black neckband that concealed her personal translator. She took a dozen steps down toward the water, stretching all seven limbs as she went. “By the gods, this weather is wonderful.”
"You said it!" Katie said, grinning, then nudging Kally to stop her staring. Katie looked around again, then down and spotted someone else. "Hey!" she said, reaching down and gently scooping Rebecca up, giving her a kiss on half her body. "I'm sorry we haven't seen much of each other lately. How are you?"
Rebecca giggled, leaning into the kiss in her way of returning it. "Pfft, I know I know, not much to see." she teased, "But just been busy working on holodeck calculations, working on mobility assistance. Can't keep relying on folks to carry me everywhere." a pause, "Adorable as it might be, yes."
"Well my shoulder is at your disposal so long as I'm sunning," Katie said.
Rala turned back to the small, mostly-naked—and, for humanoids, rather attractive—group now gathered on the beach, and did a double-take, no longer quite as sure which Kellerman was which. “Stars and stones, how does anyone tell you two apart when you’re out of uniform?”
Kally's eyes lit up with excitement and as Katie returned Becca to her towel, she went up to her, bouncing on her toes. "Espersen said he's going to be stopping by later," she said, excitedly, bobbing her eyebrows.
Katie looked at her questioningly, then her eyes got wide and she shook her head. "No. No way."
"C'mon!" Kally said.
"No! Absolutely not!" Katie said.
"Come on, please?" Kally begged.
"This isn't the time," Katie said.
"There is literally never going to be a better time!" Kally said.
"Why him? Why not Jadizon?" Katie suggested.
"Jadizon is a telepath, it won't work!" Kally protested. "He'll take one tiptoe through our tulips--SHUT UP, CALLY!" Kally said over her shoulder in response to the other woman's snicker, "--and he'll know immediately!"
Katie still looked unsure. "I dunno...."
"Are you worried about one of our professors seeing you naked?" Kally teased.
"Are you kidding?" Katie scoffed. "He's the only professor who hasn't seen me naked, because all the others saw you!" She looked at her sister's pleading expression and folded her arms over her chest. "Why am I even entertaining this idea?"
Kally grinned. "Because deep down you know you want to do it too," she said, excitedly.
Katie sighed. "Do you have a spare towel?"
Kally let out a cheer and quickly fished an identical towel to hers out of her tote bag as Katie carefully removed hers and shook it out away from the group. She folded it up and put it back in her bag and laid back down. "You so owe me for this."
"I love you!" Kally said, happily, lying back as well.
"You two are cruel and very unusual." Cally laughed, making sure that she remembered which was which herself, "Makes me wish I had a twin myself to do the same thing! Then I could have a self-made alibi."
"How do you think I got through his class in the first place?" Kally whispered in Cally's ear.
Rala watched the exchange, blinking, first pair of arms crossed under her generous chest, second pair akimbo, hands on her hips. “Are...are you two actually talking about what I think you’re talking about?” she asked, slightly incredulous.
Kally lit up and sat up. "If you're asking for a go, then we'd be happy to--"
"Shush it!" Katie said, smacking Kally's arm. She looked at Rala and shook her head. "We're just playing a little joke. A favorite identical twin prank.”
Kally nudged her sister and stood up, Katie following her. They walked over to Rala, grinning. "See, I've been messing with his head lately for fun," Kally said.
Rala raised an eyebrow at her.
"By lately, she means years," Katie explained moving to Rala's right.
Rala rolled her eyes. “That tracks.”
"And by head I mean brain, not the head he'd prefer," Kally said, smirking and moving to Rala's left.
They quickly moved behind her, knocking into each other, spinning around and quickly moving around each other again before coming back around as Rala tried to turn around to see them.
"So," one of them said, "since he couldn't tell the difference between us at the academy..."
"...we're going to see if he can now," the other one said. "Since he really only likes one of us, it'll give him some pause."
They both giggled and stood with their hands innocently--and identically--behind their backs, their heads tilted at the same angle and the same big grin.
"Think you could?" the one on the left said, winking.
Rala’s arms, which had all moved when trying to track the twins, settled back to their previous position, save for one hand that had been across her chest now reached up to scratch the side of her snout. “I see,” she said. Her brow furrowed and her nostrils flared as she looked between them. After a few seconds, she pointed at the one who’d winked. “Kally?” she asked softly.
The other twin raised an eyebrow and grinned. "You think you can be sure?"
“I think so; there’s a very slight difference in your scents.” She shifted her weight and changed which hand was scratching her snout, causing her chest to wobble briefly.
Kally's eyes glanced down ever-so-briefly at the display of gravity defiance.
Rala’s eyes locked on the twin on her left—the one who’d winked, the one who’d glanced down. She narrowed her eyes slightly and smirked. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
Kally grinned and glanced over her shoulder at Cally and Becca. "Shhhh," she said to Rala, winking again.
After Kally gave Rala another appreciative glance, the two girls turned and went back to the others on the towels, each taking one and stretching out on their stomachs, letting the sun warm the other side.
"The good news is, I know which is which." Calypso stretched languidly, "But then again, I have a way to really cheat and I'm interested in seeing what his nibs is going to do when he arrives." She smiled towards the twins, "Just because I don't like using it doesn't mean I won't cheat."
Kally took Cally's hand and held it, giving it a squeeze. "We'll do our best to entertain," she promised.
Rala rolled her eyes again, but chuckled and shook her head in bemusement before following the two back over to her own towel and stretching out on her back.
"Don't feel bad if you got it wrong Rala. *I* can't tell them apart." Rebecca reassured.
Katie grinned down at her. "Perfect," she said, giving Becca a kiss."
