Her first real assignment

Mission: The Boneyard Heist
Ensign Michelson gladly accepted the position aboard the USS Chimera and said a quick goodbye to her grandparents before taking the type eleven shuttle and setting course for her new assignment at warp five, the shuttles cruising velocity. It would take Michelson just over a week in the shuttle to reach the Chimera and she was nervous as hell to be reporting in to her new Commanding Officer. She had been stuck in a shuttle with a rowdy Klingon for so long she wasn't sure she knew how to act on the bridge and hoped she didn't mess up. It would only take her two hours to decide to make a physical change, chopping her long hair off to more of a choppy bob. The shuttle was a mess and she would require a fresh uniform for sure.
The first forty eight hours went by pretty quick although she was eating to many snacks and not being able to exercise. Ice cream after dinner one night, donuts for breakfast, pizza and cola for lunch. It was either that she was bored or depressed, perhaps a little bit of both. She already missed her grandparents and knew this was going to take some getting used to. Following a proper command structure and being at the helm of a Luna Class star ship. At least she was using some of her down time wisely and refreshing herself on bridge protocol, the specifications of the Luna Class and her expected engine limitations.
The class of ship alone was impressive, but the fact that she was going to be at the helm made her smile. Maybe the boring down time was just what she needed to get her mind back in order and ready to serve on a star ship.
Not long after docking her shuttle the Ensign found the ship she was looking for. The check in with security went by quickly, she was told she was one of the first to arrive and given directions to her quarters. As the turbo lift doors closed Ensign Michelson gave a sequel of excitement, but quickly composed herself. Just minuets later Danielle entered her quarters and started unpacking the few personal items she brought with her and the designer clothes she brought.
From what she heard the ship needed some work before she was mission ready. Ensign Michelson had a few hours to unpack and unwind before she was to meet up with the Chimera's Commanding Officer. She placed a photo of her grandparents and then one of her parents, this one still brought a tear to her eye. The photo was just how she remembered her parents, in their uniform and ready to do what needed to be done for the good of the many. Danielle sat on the foot of her bed, holding the picture of her parents and thinking about the day her parents left her with her grandparents and then the flash of the day she over heard the news about her parents being considered dead.
Danielle wiped a tear from her face once she shook her head and her attention was brought back to the present. Shaking it off Danielle knew she couldn't let this get her down. After placing the photo back on the shelf she made her way over and put her clothes away. She didn't bring a lot with her, most of the time she would be in a uniform. She actually didn't mind the uniform and had heard a lot of people complain about the uniform.
