Redeeming His Prize

Posted on Wed Apr 1st, 2026 @ 1:20pm by Lieutenant Commander Alexander Espersen & Crewman Erika Yang & Lieutenant Kally Kellerman

Mission: Lower Decks
Location: Sickbay

Kally stepped out of the bathroom in her office, freshly scrubbed and exhausted. Surgery tended to take a good deal out of her, as did random emergencies. She sat down behind her desk, a tshirt and shorts in place of her uniform, trying to let herself cool down while she attacked her mountain of paperwork.

Unfortunately for her, the First Officer had business to attend to.

Alexander Espersen entered sickbay and stood before the unit clerk’s desk. “Crewman Yang. Is Doctor Kellerman available?”

Erika always had the CMO’s calendar open on her screen, so it took no time at all to verify. She nodded in an affirmative. “She finished with a surgery about half an hour ago, sir. She’s been in her office since then. No patients, no appointments, no house calls. Nothing for the next two hours.”

“Thank you,” he said. “I need to talk to her, so block off this time slot. Let her know I’m here.”

“Yes, sir.” Erika opened a commline to the Chief Medical Officer’s office. “Doctor Kellerman? Commander Espersen to see you.”

Kally let out a long sigh. “Is it too late to tell him I’m not here?”

The door opened midway through her question. “I’m afraid not, Doctor,” he said with a bemused smirk.

Kally sighed again. “Enjoy Delta shift all next week, Erika,” she grumbled, closing the channel. She swiveled around in her chair to look at him, crossing her nearly bare legs. “What can I do for you, Commander?”

“You’re out of uniform,” he observed.

“And you came here to appreciate that fact?” she deadpanned.

He sighed and stepped further into the office for the door to close behind them. “No, Doctor,” he said, annoyed. Though I can appreciate it, he thought, but quickly tamped down that impulse. He took a moment to take off his uniform jacket and hang it on a wall hook.

“Oh you’re coming to join me,” Kally teased, eyeing his uniform shirt.

“I’m actually here to discuss Jeffries’ return to duty.”

“I’d rather she have a couple days more rest,” Kally said. “She’s taken a massive dose of radiation. Until she’s able to hold herself upright without a prayer, I’d like her to stay here.”

“That’s fine,” Alex replied. “We rush her back into the engine room and we risk yet more burn-outs. But with Miss Jade still not at one hundred percent we are badly understaffed down there.” He chuckled. “I’d say you should put in a shift or two down there, you ended up being a decent engineering student, but I suppose that says more about Katie than you, doesn’t it?”

“Mmm….true,” Kally said smirking. “She always was a better tutor. She could explain engineering principles so clearly that even I could understand them. A testament to her skills, I suppose. Could use her at the academy someday.” She stood up and put her hands behind her back taking a couple steps closer. “Or is this just some thinly-veiled attempt to get us both in the same room again?”

“Honestly I should get you both back into the same room with me,” he retorted, taking a single step closer. “Sit you both down and have you re-take that midterm that you improbably aced. Making sure you have no transmitters hidden under your uniform.”

Kally looked at him, then blinked. “Sorry, I zoned out after ‘sit you down and take you at the midterm,’ she said, deliberately misquoting. She smirked at his expression. “And exactly how do you intend to check for transmitters? Can’t trust a tricorder these days. How do you know I don’t have one now? Maybe Katie’s listening in on the whole scheme, ready to help me study again.”

“Whatever it takes,” Alex asserted. “Even if it means you go without the uniform.” He smirked again. “I still have the picture, you know. Perhaps the ‘prize’ is finally disciplining you like a good First Officer should.”

Kally laughed. “Oh color me surprised, you kept it. I knew you had a crush on Katie,” she sassed. “And if you wanted my uniform off, all you had to do was say so, Professor,” she said. “Would’ve saved me a lot of studying and wasted time trying to remember what a reverse ratcheting router was for. And before you ask, no, I don’t remember. Is that going to cost me marks? Or earn me some?” She stuck her tongue out at him, somewhat amused, but mostly annoyed.

“Keep joking,” Alex encouraged. “See where it gets you. You send that picture and think it’s hilarious, but now you can’t even acknowledge what you did.” He snorted. “It should earn you a few marks.”

“There were several women in that room, and any of them would be happy to attest that they couldn’t tell which of us was which without our clothes on,” Kally said. “And if I recall, neither could you. You were too busy appreciating it to care who was who. So don’t pretend you have this all wrapped up in a bow.”

“So you’d rather lie to my face than admit a loss,” he said. “Good to know Sickbay is in such trustworthy hands.”

“Haven’t had a complaint about my hands from any crewmen yet,” she said. “Not to mention the rest of me. Must be why their morale is so high and yours is still sour as ever. And, Commander? Let’s not get on too high a horse about lying to one’s face, if you’re going to pretend your eyes weren’t just comparing me to that photo you keep thinking about.” She smirked and pressed against him ever so gently. “And if you really want that prize….just say so…Sir.”

“Can’t compare too closely to the picture now can I?” he shot back, gesturing with his hands to her clothes. “So go on. Finish the job. Or should I do it for you?”

Kally openly laughed this time. “Oh, as if you had the guts,” she said. “You have the picture, and I’m right here, and you can’t compare too closely? You….you know what? You’re right. You can’t. Not won’t, just can’t.” She turned and took a step back to her desk.

He followed. Immediately behind her. Without hesitation. His fingers grasped the elastic of her shorts and he pulled down hard, exposing her ass to him. An ass which he gave a firm smack.

She let out the yelp before she was consciously aware of what he’d done and stopped to avoid tripping over herself as her legs suddenly locked together from her shorts around her knees.

Before she could react further, his hands were on the bottom of her shirt, roughly pulling it over her head and tossing it away.

Kally turned and stared at him, half surprised, half excited, but kept her face as neutral as she could. “Well, good to know where the line to earn a smack is,” she said. She stood and moved her legs subtly, letting her shorts fall and stepping out of them. “So, back to this. You get an eyeful.” She put her hands on her hips. “You sure it was me in that photo? Wanna go download it to check?” She wasn’t sure what else to say and was buying time, trying to figure out how far she could push him before he threw her in the brig. Given this was nothing new for them, she figured she could push him a bit further, to the point she had him on the beach. She walked up and let her nipples graze against his uniform top. “Too close now?” she said, looking up at him and batting her eyes.

Oh she’s not winning this one, he thought. He inched forward, just enough to push her back the smallest amount, giving him enough room to pull his shirt off and throw it aside, at the same time stepping out of his shoes and kicking them away. “No,” he said, a growl deep in his voice. “Do you need another smack?”

Kally’s eyes went wide, but she held her own. “Maybe I do,” she said, calling his bluff, but her usual sass was tamped down ever-so-slightly. Then again, she thought, still haven’t broached new territory here. Nothing I haven’t seen. She folded her arms and watched him strip down. “Good idea,” she said. “Muscle memory. Recreate the conditions you’ve been staring at the picture in, so you can get a better mental image to compare. Should I get in the pose? What was it? Arms up?” She put her arms above her head in a similar position, shaking her hips slightly.

He couldn’t help but laugh at her comment about muscle memory. “Well if there was any doubt before,” he jabbed. “From ninety nine-percent certainty to one hundred.” As he stepped out of his pants, leaving himself in the same state she was in, Alex fully removed the distance between them and clasped with one hand Kally’s wrists over the head.

Having been man-handled by Klingons (and others) this wasn’t the most intimidating position Kally had found herself in, but something in his eyes gave her pause and she felt a rush of heat to her cheeks, all four of them. “Still have one hand free,” she said. “Where’s that smack you keep prom--” she stopped and squealed as his other hand called her bluff.

She looked him in the eye again and decided if he was going to up the ante, she’d call. She stepped onto her toes and leaned up, giving him a kiss that had sent more than one ensign reeling. “Fine. You win,” she said snarkily. “Congratulations.”

He had not expected the kiss, and it hit him like an electric shock, causing him to step back a bit.

But he won. And he’d take that win with gusto.

Alex walked her back to her desk and sat her on it. He put his palm on her abdomen and slid it downward. “You know,” he mused as he touched her, looking her in the eyes, smiling at the sounds his fingers were making, “I think maybe you don’t mind this.”

Kally gasped and leaned into him, her thighs parting on instinct and some of the sass out of her voice as it got breathier. “You just keep right on thinking that, Professor,” she purred.

“I’m just following the evidence, Doctor,” he replied as he picked up the pace. He laughed when she bit her lip. “Oh, was that a moan I just heard? Having trouble with that composure of yours?”

“Just frustrated that you’re wasting time on foreplay,” she said, breathing hard, pulling her arms and upper body backwards, lying on her desk, forcing him to bend over her or relinquish her wrists.

He followed her lead, climbing onto her desk, on top of her. “Just trying not to be selfish,” he said. His eyes were locked on hers as he gave her what he had.

Kally’s head went back as her back arched and she locked her legs around him with the force of a docking clamp. “Finally!”

“Finally?” Kally said, looking over Erika’s shoulder and reading what was on her screen. “Not the word I’d use, I assure you.”

“Shit!” Erika turned around, surprised by the voice coming from behind her. She spun around and looked panicked, but just momentarily. That quickly faded to embarrassment. “Well, that ‘finally’ had a few meanings there. But, what do you think you would have said?”

Kally snorted a quick laugh. “Oh, probably something along the lines of a general threat to his life if he tells a soul, and given what he’s working with, an extremely loud moan,” Kally quipped. “Points for authenticity on the rest of it, though,” she said, booping Erika on the tip of her nose.

”Thanks!” Erika said, beaming. She quickly opened a notes tab and added two bullets, ‘she’ll make a threat re secrecy’ and ‘loud moan; he is big’. She locked her screen and looked back at her superior officer, missing Kally’s eye roll while Erika’s back was turned. Back to professionalism. “Anything I can do for you, Doctor?”

“No, we’re all good here, crewman,” Kally said, stifling a laugh and walking back to her office. “Just send me a copy when you’re done. I’ll add it to the file I’m assembling,” she called over her shoulder.
