A Message From Beyond The Veil

Mission: A Princess Of Tial
Timeline: Mid Day 3

"Subspace message incoming, Lieutenant." The officer manning the watch at the helm-slash-operations console stated to Lieutenant (jg) Terrance Granville, who'd taken the watch for a few hours. "Update, it's from Starbase 514, Commodore Everly."

"Put it on-screen, Ensign." The junior Science officer who'd taken the opportunity to log some bridge time said.

"It's a recorded message, sir, dated... Six hours ago." The Ensign in red hit a few buttons, "Coming up on screen."

The image of a Commodore who was definitely aging, but still decent looking came up on the screen. "Captain Skyie, in the absence of knowing exactly where you are, this message is coming to you via relay. We have received a distress beacon from a Federation-originated ship in your general vicinity and in your operating area. If our readings are correct, you or one of your Dashian contacts can be there in a few days at most. The distress beacon indicates that the situation is stable, but that the ship is disabled and repairs are required. You are ordered to rendezvous with that ship as soon as possible to render assistance. Respond to this message for further instructions after you make rendezvous. Everly, out."

Granville whistled under his breath and glanced at the screen, "The Captain is still on the ground, isn't she?"

"Yes, sir, I can make contact with the ground station we were told about and have her informed?"

"Make it so, Ensign, let's also send the alert to all senior officers still on board to give them the heads up, especially Engineering." He sighed, "So much for some easy bridge time, isn't it?"

"Your Graces," Calypso had been handed the message within thirty minutes of it's arrival on Chimera's bridge and was able to get an audience with the Baroness and her daughter almost immediately, "While I would love to stay for a few more days, we have unfortunately received a message from home that requires us to depart as soon as possible. While we can have our crew aboard in the next two or three hours, we still have a few items we planned on leaving behind, including a subspace comm in case you needed to get a hold of us."

"We would like to thank you for everything you have done for us, especially the return of Tessa." Sera stood and reached out for Cally's hands, gripping them in a gesture of friendship, "Is there the possibility of your returning in the future? I'm sure my daughter would love to see you and the others in the future, as would I."

"We may be able to arrange that, Your Grace." Calypso squeezed back, then released her, "And we will miss you, Your Grace." She said directly to Tessa who has come forward as well, then oofed as Tessa wrapped her up in a tight hug, "Sorry we couldn't teach you more while we had you."

"It's all right, Lady Skyie, we were wary even after you picked us up and it took us a while to really get comfortable with everyone on board. Lady Kellerman taught us a lot that I can teach our own healers and it's invaluable." The young woman looked a little troubled, but it was clear that she didn't want to make a big deal of it, "We do have a few things we would like to send with you as well, if you can spare a couple of hours for us to load them?"

"I think we can do that, I intend to set our departure time for about... Oh, six hours from now, just to play it safe." She finally released the girl and gave a wry smile, "And perhaps I can take a flight in one of your shuttles? I used to be a pilot, you know."

Sera laughed, "That certainly can be arranged, Captain Skyie. And again, thank you for everything."
