What We Dread (*Backpost*)

Mission:
The Interim
Location: Medical
====================
It took courage to head to Medical.
It took bravery found only in Legends... to willingly head to Medical.
Heading to Medical for an entrance physical was an act of God. Rebecca opted to handle this sooner rather than later, but she needed assistance to get there. "Are we there yet?" Rebecca asked with a giggle, having asked Calypso to navigate the ship to help her get to Medical. Also, she had heard stories about the chief of medical, and while she never-ever thought that the chief would engage in unlicensed predation... but there's was still a tinge of concern there.
As promised, Calypso had decided to wear something with more pockets. She LOVED pockets! Just so many things she could carry, such as trinkets or candy or any of about a million different things. The flight suit she wore had red in the proper locations, just like a standard uniform, and she did have it mostly zipped up in the front, but fighter pilots were brash and while she hadn't been a combat pilot in a long, long time, habits died hard. She glanced down at the science officer, "It'll just be another minute, it's not like she's going to bite or anything, Doc F'Arra's actually really nice."
Rebecca giggled, looking back up at the Captain. "No worries, just a bit nervous getting back into the swing of Starfleet active duty. Couldn't stand sitting on my ass any longer, you know?" she inquired skyward, "Had to get back on the, I guess, toy horse?" she giggled again. "Appreciate the assist."
“Oh, it’s my pleasure, really.” Cally grinned down. Truth was, she couldn’t WAIT to see the look in F’arra’s face when she finally saw the newest addition to the crew. It wasn’t that she was a cruel mistress, she just.. Enjoyed playing jokes on her crew members and this one wasn’t even a prank! Besides… “All comfy down there, I hope?”
Rebecca gave a giggle, "Very comfy. A little too comfy, gonna have trouble getting me outta here." she commented with a smile. This wasn't so bad. Not once you got used to it. And while part of her didn't think she'd EVER get 'used to it'... it wasn't like she had many other options.
Cally gave her a mock scowl, softened by a quirk of a smile. This one was growing on her, not literally of course, but she was different in her own right. “Doc may want to give ME a once over too, since I’m there and she got all of her instruments to hand, so if we’re not too long, I can give you a lift to your next destination, but if she doesn’t need me, I’m running away before she changes her mind!”
"Oh no no no, you're not abandoning me, Captain. Gotta be there for the safety and well being of your crew and all that." she giggled skyward, "But, I do appreciate everything. I appreciate the lift too." she said, honestly. "And no running away." she held a finger up, pointing in mock scolding. With that, the diminutive officer gave a smile, and then ducked down further to avoid being seen in a compromising position like this as another officer walked by them in the hall.
“All right, coming up on the last turn to sickbay.” Cally muttered seemingly to herself as she made that last turn and the door came into sight. Another couple crewmen had been passing, but they were already used the Cally seemingly talking to herself and gave her no mind whatsoever. “Here we go.” Cally felt Becca move slightly, probably to get a bit better of a visual view as the door slid open and she saw the Caitian doc almost immediately, “Good afternoon Doc!” She laughed slightly, putting a big smile on her face, “How’s things going?”
A loud, feline sneeze filled the room just then. F'Arra shook her head slightly, as her ears twitched. "Is Science conducting a flora evaluation? I may be allergic to something new on board." That, or she had a bacterial infection from somewhere. "What can I do for you, Captain?" The doctor tried to smile, but it was an expression that didn't quite carry the usual full sincerity. The doctor was clearly feeling not her best.
“Might be my perfume?” Calypso mused, then shook her head, “Sorry, Doc, I’m just here to deliver your newest charge for her initial medical screening. Rebecca? Time for you to meet the doctor!”
There was nothing for a moment. No reaction, no Rebecca... "Ummm, I'm stuck." came a voice without a body.
“I.. Umm..” With a slightly guilty look, Cally tugged the zipper down slightly and shoved a hand between her boobs, trying to get a finger grip on Rebecca, but when that failed began to bounce around to dislodge the tiny woman. To an outside observer, it could have been a ventriloquist act, with squeaking involved.
One eyebrow raised, F'Arra watched the Captain carry on a conversation with what had to be someone on Comms... right?
Sensing something was starting to loosen, Cally began to wiggle her hips to get some additional motion and then something slipped out and she was unable to catch Rebecca as she fell down inside the flight suit and her eyes opened wide as she felt where the science officer had gotten to. “I umm…”
"C... cal-- Captain?" there was a muffled squeak.
“G-give me one moment.” Cally said very softly, spinning around and ripping down the frontal zipper, reaching down and digging around in her flight suit. From behind, it looked like it could be something else entirely, something VERY not innocent like rescuing someone.
F'Arra watched, stunned. Her eyebrows raised almost comically. It was then that her medical brain licked in.
Clogged Caitian sinuses. The Captain seemingly needing to either scratch a very sensitive itch, or else choosing a most questionable place for self gratification. Not really considering the latter, the Doctor put two and two together and landed on... five.
Her brow furrowed in concern, then raised in abject alarm at the ramifications of what could have caused two seemingly disconnected events. After but a handful of seconds in contemplation, Lieutenant F'Arra, MD, FFCS, and Acting Chief of Medical spoke without a single falter, despite her sheet panic.
"Computer. Initiate Level-3 Quarantine on Sickbay." The doors immediately sealed, the air-flow of life support now being redirected through a half dozen filtration and disinfectant safeguards.
Having taken action, F'Arra sneezed again, uttering a small curse in her native language that the Universal Translator didn't quite catch.
Cally finally was able to snag Rebecca after what seemed like FOREVER and raised her up in victory even as the words that F'Arra had said registered. She turned around again, her eyes wide open, "No, it's not what it looks like!" She said reflexively, "I um..." She glanced at Rebecca in her hands guiltily for some reason, "I brought a new officer with me?"
Rebecca gasped for air as she was held up in triumph. "Too fast!" she squeaked, and then as she was brought before F'Arra she gave a weak nod, "Lieutenant Rebecca McMillen, here for my transfer exam and maybe some psychological counseling." she recited. Hard to tell where the humor began.
F'Arra's expression dropped to one of irritation. "So you're not here for a case of the Elcorian Skin Mites?" She asked, the usual rasp in her voice sounding far more nasally than usual.
"Elcorian... Skin... Mites?" Calypso asked hesitantly, trying to imagine what sort of creepy-crawlies that were starting to make her want to actually itch this time, but she resisted that. "No, I've never heard of them and I really don't want to know what they are and let's not go near anywhere that has them?"
"Besides, I'm not a mite." Rebecca offered.
"Of course you're not." F'Arra tried to smile, but the feline facial features turned it into a rather villainous grin. "You're here for a medical check, I assume? Name?"
Rebecca didn't recoil. Smiles from ordinary folks at her newfound statue were scary as well. Besides, recoiling from your doctor was a good way to get on their bad side. "Rebecca McMillen. Lieutenant." she started. "You might find me under special care and cases. Considering." she motioned to herself.
"Close encounter with a subspace compression anomaly a few years ago."
F'Arra moved to the nearest terminal, pulling up the specific record. "Ah, yes. Quite the curious case, I see. Have a seat at Biobed Four," She froze, mid gesture at the biobed in question. "I- sorry. Captain, care to place our Lieutenant on the biobed?"
Sheepishly, Calypso had rezipped her flight suit up most of the way and now gingerly carried and placed Rebecca on the biobed, "I um... I'm not needed anymore, right? I'll go on and get myself out of the way."
"Actually, ummm.." Rebecca started as she hopped off of Calypso's hand and onto the aforementioned biobed. "Could you stay? Might need a transport when this is over and, well, I wouldn't want to take any of the medical staff away from their duties."
"Youu could always comm me when you're done and I'll swing by to grab you?" Cally edged towards the door, "I can go check in with engineering while you're you know, doing your own thing here?"
Rebecca looked down at the biobed she stood upon, gently kicking at the surface. "No, you're right. I shouldn't be selfish, I'll... I'll comm you when it's clear. Thank you!"
"Captain, one moment before you leave." F'Arra came over with a PADD extended. "I took the liberty of scheduling your next routine physical, and had the computer note it in your calendar, since I know sometimes things can get forgotten in the chaos."
Cally took the PADD between two fingers as if it were made of radiation, but dutifully took a look at it and grimaced, "Oooo, next Tuesday is not a good day for me, I've got plans already made for then. Wednesday as well." She gave a sorrowful look, "Let me work with my schedule and I'll make an appointment for when I'll be available?"
