The Bath Before The Storm

Posted on Wed Aug 17th, 2022 @ 1:37am by Bexley Kinsley & Captain Calypso Skyie

Mission: Pirates! (Or Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Yum)
Location: Penweather's Quarters
Timeline: Basically The Same Time As 'Interim Interium'

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow was the day that he could finally expiate one of his mistakes. The day that he could finally start his true plan to rid the galaxy of the very last of the people that had considered him guilty of war crimes during a war the likes the Federation had never seen. Then-Captain Erica Everly had ruined his life, his career, but... If that hadn't happened, he wouldn't be where he was right this minute.

And that was in the oversized tub in his quarters, where he did some of the best of his thinking. Of course, there was another wild-card that still had yet to be resolved. The matter of one First Lieutenant Natalya Markova... He'd left her well-being in the very tender hands of Bexley, of course, his most trusted right hand. His favorite. And that was why she was due to join him that evening, to let him know one way or the other about this... Lieutenant, or potential recruit. In fact, she should be arriving right about...

Bex had spent the last few hours alone. She'd taken Black Pearl for a bit of a jaunt, enjoying the quiet time at the helm of her baby. After getting back to the ship she'd spent some time on her holodeck, a horseback riding program she favoured, a horse that was based on a beauty she had had as a teenager and ridden regularly. Even though she'd showered once she finished riding, she entered his bathroom, a place that appeared even more spacious and regal than her own. Her personal body guards waiting in the hall outside the doors, allowing them privacy. No sooner had the doors closed behind her, she smiled demurely, lowering her head as she untied the belt of her robe, letting it slide silkily from her shoulders and pool on the floor behind her before she stepped up and joined him in the tub.

His grin broadened as she joined him and he sidled to one side so that she could come in under his arm to relax with him, "And how is my little minx today?" He asked her with a voice that sounded about like a lion's purr, "Tomorrow's the first step to the last part of this plan, and it can't come quick enough."

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Bex asked cautiously, tipping her head back took up at him, eyes wide and innocent.

Damien gave her a curious look as he pulled her against him, "Absolutely. Even if I can't take this ship intact, it's still a step in the right direction. Could you believe that the Captain of the Chimera is the same one that was the Executive Officer aboard this very ship? She tried to kill me, this Calypso Skyie, I almost succeeded in turning that attempt back on her, but here she is again, getting in my way."

"What if this time she succeeds?" Bex asked quietly, one hand lightly caressing his chest. She wasn't normally one to dwell on the what ifs... but she was truthfully concerned, for lots of reasons.

"If she succeeds?" He half-shrugged, "Then she succeeds, but the odds are stacked against her. When she sees Oracle, I plan on using her original transponder code. It will cause her to hesitate, giving me the next move. Getting the Major on board will cause her more problems and so long as Miss Markova is telling us the truth, we will either take her and her ship or distract her long enough for us to destroy her. You do believe Natalya, don't you?"

Bex nodded absently. "I don't want anything to happen to you," she purred, curling in closer to him, shifting just enough to brush a soft kiss across his lips before returning her head to his shoulder. "Who'd take care of me if you weren't around?"

"You don't have to worry about that." Damien reassured her, "As long as you're not the one to kill me, you'll be taken well care of. I've gotten it all arranged for you and the other girls, just in case." A brief smile and he leaned in for another kiss, one a bit more intimate, "I promised back then I'd always take care of you, sweetling, and I never break a promise. Ever."

Bex shifted, moving carefully so she wouldn't splash the water as she straddled his legs, sitting on his lap facing him, leaning in for another kiss, the fingers of one hand curling in the hair at the back of his head. "Can I take my Pearl out during the fight?" she asked breathlessly, her mouth close enough that it was almost on his. "It's been a long time since I got to play and really put her through her paces."

He leaned up towards her but was refused the next kiss, she always did love to play, especially in intimate moments like this. She wouldn't relent until she had an answer, "Of course, but stay out of the line of fire." He admonished slightly, "You say you don't know what you would do without me, Bexley, but I myself would be lost without you. You are my most trusted, my right hand. Perhaps even, in the future..." He trailed off.

"Promises, promises," Bex teased softly. He'd made similar intimations multiple times in the past and as always, there was no follow through. "Now, come help me get dry before my skin goes all wrinkly."

“Of course, my dear.” With a gesture and an arm movement, he helped her get up out of the bath, admiring the view the entire way before standing to follow her out. There was definitely time to… Help her dry.
