Mission: The Dexic Negotiations
Location: Dexic
Timeline: An Hour Prior To Chimera's Return

Rei had taken up over watch on the door to where this person Xevar had taken the hostages, according to the Dexician here. She'd seen others go out, come back, additional arrivals and two more departures. But this next one was different in their looks. Instead of just going, they'd looked around before departing, a different step than the rest.

She followed him with her eyes, then waved over Markov to take the watch and made her way to Natalya, "I've got to go." She said simply, One just left and he's not just on a minor errand." Without waiting, Reiishi went out the opposite end and began to follow her target, finding the spot where she best felt she could intercept them.

Rene watched as the Gunny left to intercept the messenger. He stepped over to Natalya. "You need to include me on the assault team. You're a shooter down and...I am the one who vectored you into where the hostages were taken."

"Sir," whispered Petty Officer 3rd Class Tanaki whispered to Mark, "what are we going to do? You saw what they did to Corporal Paxton."

"We aren't going to be here much longer," Mark quietly whispered back to both Tanaki and Ensign Verren from sciences. "I transmitted some information to the captain when I talked to her, and she let me know that the cavalry is coming. In fact, don't look, but I believe they may be here Be prepared to move at a moment's notice. We may also have to provide a bit of a distraction."

The two nodded. Mark quietly moved towards the cell door as Xevar came over. Suddenly there was a commotion outside, and a couple of the gang toppled over. There were several startled exclamations from the others, and pandemonium ensued. Xevar, looking over his shoulder, started giving orders. Mark suddenly reached through the bars, grabbed Xevar, and slammed him against the bars. Xevar slumped down, and Mark quickly let go when he noticed that the door key was already in the lock. Quickly unlocking the door and opening it, he scooped up Xevar's weapon and simply started shooting at anyone who was in the immediate vicinity, noting out of the corner of his eye that Tanaki had also grabbed a weapon from as well. One of the gang had even made the mistake of stumbling too close to Verren, who dropped the man with a neck pinch. Within a few moments, most of the gang were down, with the few remaining finding themselves caught between the away team and the rescue party.

"I would advise throwing down your weapons," Mark told those few. "As you might imagine, we are not much in the mood for negotiating at this point." They wisely thew down their weapons. Turning to face out of one of the shattered windows, Mark called out, "This is Lt. Valleroy. Area is secure. Come in, and someone contact the ship. We've got a few prisoners of our own now, nad I'm gonna want to talk to the captain about what to do with 'em."
