Onwards And Away To The Next

"Captain's Log, Stardate...Oh hell, I hate these Stardate logs in any case."

"It really is a pity that we had to leave Tial in as much of a rush as we did. The hospitality on the surface was rather good, even among the teams I sent out to other areas on the planet. Their 'Council of Lights' was one governmental meeting that I could have done without, but the presence of the Baroness of Light's End and her former consort, the Light of the Eastern Watch helped with the introductions.

"Tial is not a technologically advanced world on it's own, nor are they really a true world government, except with that one singular provision for when it comes down to the protection of the planet. The fact that the Borg have visited here twice is very concerning, but it explains why the Tialans refuse to be taken alive by anyone, aside from that one singular exception. Still, the Borg don't live very long on the surface and they can't adapt to swords or arrows, so that makes Tial a rather safe planet from them.

"Oh, and we had that last minute surprise that delayed us by a few hours, but the presence of Tessa Orion back aboard is a surprisingly pleasant one. Having a Baroness, and yes, she has her own territory now which makes her one of the few hundred nobles on the planet, on board means that our relations with this secluded world has a true inside track. We left a couple of our own personnel back on the planet, Lieutenant T'Pinga and Ensign Delacroix decided to remain behind to maintain the tech that we set up the Tialans with, as well as to try to teach them about what's out there in the universe. Besides, Minerva seems to be fascinated with some of the ruins and other discoveries they've made. They're under the protection of Light's End, so they should be as safe as anyone on the planet.

"But, now we're heading back out into the void once more, because apparently a Federation-registered starship is in trouble in the local area. Why are they out here? Who knows, but we're going to go rescue them and find out some answers. What's that saying, 'Go thataway and take a left at the next star'? Something like that. It's going to be interesting to see who I'll have take over Operations, that's going to take some thought. I'm going to send a status report to H-Q in the next day or two, with a recommendation that we make the trip back to Federation space within the next six months or so, just to give the crew a chance to see their families again if they so desire. We've been out here for over a year now and while we have become our own family out here, even with the newcomers I know some people miss the ones at home.

"Until then we'll do what we always do: Adjust, Adapt and Overcome. End Captain's Log."
