Retrieving Some Stuff... On A Ghost Ship

Mission: The Boneyard Heist

Doctor Adiff had spent most of his day putting up what supplies he had brought with him to the Chimera but luckily he had finished that task shortly after the senior staff briefing. He gathered a few things to be prepared for the away mission and was off to the transporter room.

"Yes, ma'am, Ah'll get right on it, ma'am." Jenna rolled her eyes as the voice kept nattering over the commlink as she made her own way to the transporter room, laden with several empty bags, "Ah understand, you want spare injectors, find out the deuterium levels to see if they're accurate and everythin' from the storage locker in Main engineerin', Ah know." She skipped once as she tried to move faster, more noise over the comm, "And yes, Ah'll get that too. No Ah don't need you to go with me, yes, Ah'll be fine. Yes, ma'am, yes ma'am. Ah'm almost there, Jade out." She readjusted the bags again over her shoulder, taking another skipping step and almost running into the Doctor, "Sorry, suh, Ah, umm, didn't see you."

"That's quite alright" Adiff said with a smile on his face. Tilting his head slightly he asked "Are you alright Ensign" he only knew to call her by her rank as they hadn't been formally introduced and he couldn't remember all the names he had thrown at him over the last day or so.

Jenna nodded once, "Yeah, Ah am, suh, the Lieutenant just gave me a shoppin' list to go over to the Olympic to fill and she just doesn't know how to shut up." She shook her head, "She wanted to come with me, but Ah don't want her lookin' over my shoulder, so it's just me." She shrugged.

"I appreciate that" the Bolian chuckled and offered to help with some of the bag's she was carrying "I have some empty room on my cart" he offered.

"You're headin' over there too?" Jenna asked, "Of course you are, Doctor, Ah'm sorry Ah didn't recognize you from the meetin', and Ah should have, 'cause Ah think you're the only Bolian aboard." She blushed a bright red.

"I figure it's the best place to stock up on additional medical supplies" he paused and smiled "also I figure there might be rations stored that we could use in a bind." The Doctor stepped on the transporter pad, beside his cart "if we have time and complete both of our lists" he made air quotes "we can check out the armory and other vital stations." He knew they didn't have a whole lot of time, but he wanted to make the trip as prosperous as possible.

"Suh, while Ah've got a large shopping list down in engineering, Ah'd be more than happy to help you with yours. More hands make light work, after all." She gladly piled her bags on his cart, at least temporarily, "Ensign Jade, Jenna Jade, sir."

"Pleasure Ensign Jade, no reason to call me sir" Doctor Adiff smiled and gave a nod to the transporter operator and then looked over at Jenna "here we go" and the familiar hum of the transporter started.

Jenna shivered as the familiar sensation of being transported ran a sliver of ice up and down her spine, "Of course, doctor," She said as they rematerialized, "And if you'd like, you can call me Jenna, Ah actually prefer that, even if it's informal. But you can call me whatever you like, doctor."

"Well Jenna, looks like sickbay is our first stop" the team was beamed directly outside of sickbay. The medical bay lit up as the two entered, it wasn't the best light, but it was more then enough for them to rummage the supply closets. "So what's with" he paused and looked over at her as he opened the closet "superior officer I'm guessing" he shrugged and started tapping on the small pad beside the door to get light in the supply room.

"Ah do think you're right, doctor." Jenna mentioned, peeking around him, "A Lieutenant Commander if Ah don't miss my guess. Must be nice to have such exalted rank." She smiled softly, "What are we lookin' for in here?"

"Any trauma supplies will be helpful" he pointed over to a shelf on her side of the closet. "You know sometimes you don't have time to replicate some items, every second counts" Adoll smiled. The doctor was gathering some medical tricorders, neural stimulators and other things that were usually built and not replicated. "Oh hypo's" he sounded excited and grabbed them two at a time, filling a square crate he had on his cart with the hypo sprays and a few dermal regenerators he found.

"Right." Jenna went to the far side of the sickbay, opening drawers and rummaging around in them, seeking anything she could find. The cabinet underneath the drawer turned out to have a case in it. She pulled it out and opened it, "Jackpot, doctor! A case of brand new tricorders! And it looks like they're one of the newer models." She pulled one out and flipped it open, "Or maybe not the newest, but it looks like the Mark Six, never been initialized."

"Jackpot indeed Jenna" Adiff was already removing the old used tricorders from his crate to make room. That meant he could take several more dermal regenerators and they were the newest model put out. "Let's not forget those" he moved a crate to make a little more room for Jenna to put the case.

She hefted the case over and wiggled it into the space vacated, then went back over to where she had found it and kept rummaging, "Ah'm not sure that these are any good anymore..." She pulled out a tray of blood expansion drugs, then an unrefrigerated tray of blood plasma additives, "You don't want any of the medications, right?"

"No, not at all" the doctor shook his head. "Put that stuff back, I'm sure it's far beyond useable" he had loaded his crate full and went off to another closet just close enough where Jenna should still be able to hear him. "Do you believe in ghosts, Jenna?" he found a small weapons locker with six hand phasers that had never been used and waited for a response, loading the weapons into a separate container he had.

"No, doctor, Ah don't believe in ghosts." She opened and shut several cabinets in quick succession, surgical gowns, blankets, pillows, nothing of any use, "Souls go to God in heaven, doctor, and live a life eternal in His holy love. Not really much room for ghosts, is there?"

"If that's how you believe then no, I guess no ghosts haunting abandoned starships" he swallowed hard, he wasn't sure why he was getting nervous. Adiff looked over at Jenna "I just, it's just a hospital ship" he shrugged "forget it, what else we got here." The doctor went back to searching another cabinet, glancing over at Jenna out of the corner of his eye. He just hoped he hadn't offended her in any way.

Jenna stopped what she was doing and made her way over to him and light placed a hand on his shoulder, "Doctor, that's just what Ah believe, Ah'm not tryin' to belittle anythin' you're feelin'. Ah know there were probably a lot of people who died on board here and if you believe in ghosts, Ah'm not gonna say anythin' bad about it."

He just smiled at her and gave her a nod. "Not sure why I got so emotional" he paused and blinked a few times "please accept my apology."

"There's no reason for an apology." Jenna pointed out, "We come from different cultures and all bein' different means is we've got a lot to learn from each other." A smile, a broad smile, "No harm in it, doctor, none at all."

Doctor Adiff gave her a nod and a soft smile "Well Miss Jenna" he tossed the last bit of things into the crate. "I'm afraid this is all we are going to get, but it's a great loot" the lights dimmed slightly and the doc turned his wrist light on while looking over at Jenna "what's next?"

"If you wouldn't mind, Ah do need to get down to their engineerin' area, elsewise my Lieutenant would crucify me." She grimaced, "Lieutenant Davenport ain't quite the most understandin' officer. The good news is, Ah know where everythin' should be and it'll be a pretty quick trip."

"Let's get to it" he grabbed the cart and gestured for her to lead the way. "Hopefully we make the Lieutenant happy" he smiled, but had a sarcastic look on his face that only Jenna could see.

“It’s the number one thing on my to do list.” Jenna agreed, sticking her tongue out with a giggle to let him know she understood his look, “But it’ll make my life easier, especially when Ah ask her for some time off next week.”

"Well then by all means, let's get everything on this list and make grouchy engineers happy" the Doctor never understood why people were so mean.

"Thanks doctor." Jenna smiled softly as she took over pushing the now somewhat half full cart, "The good news is that Ah already know exactly where we need to hit. Engineerin' is far more of an 'in lockstep' area than Medical, because when we're hittin' a crisis and get outside help, we don't have time to explain to outside helpers where things are."

"Makes sense" he said following her "I'm honestly ready to get off this dark, spooky ship anyway" the doctor was freaked out about it.

"You know, doc, if you'd really rather, Ah can handle everythin' down in Engineerin' if you'd rather get back to the Chimera and get all of your loot settled in." Jenna caught onto his nervousness, "Ah was expectin' to do it all myself in any case."

"Absolutely not" the doctor replied and did his best fake smile. "We are in this together, until the end my friend" the doctor would actually probably make a trip by one of the cargo bay's before they left, time permitting.

They only went down three levels in the turbolift before exiting on Deck 10 which held the main engineering offices and most of the gear Jenna was looking for. She stopped the cart in the main area, where it was best lit, "If you don't mind waitin' right here, this'll only take me about fifteen minutes to get everythin' the Lieutenant wants, assumin' it's here in the first place." She gave him a smile that told him it would be all right, before bustling off as if on a mission.

"Oh okay" Adoll glanced around and waited for the young woman to return, he hoped it didn't take more then fifteen minutes.

When she needed to, Jenna could move like the wind and she sang softly to herself as she fairly danced around the engineering area, rapidly filling the bags she'd brought and stacking them onto the cart until it was full, then lining them up next to it. Finally, she powered on one of the consoles and stopped her singing while she spoke numbers in order to memorize them. Thirteen minutes and twenty-six seconds after beginning her whirlwind tour of the area, she was back and began to sling bags across her body, "All right, sorry that took so long, Ah've got what Ah need."

"Oh no problem" the doctor said. "It was just eerie quite" he shrugged and gave a smile. "Anything else?" he was ready to get off the ship but wouldn't wimp out.

“No reason to worry, doctor, Ah’m here to keep you safe and sound from anythin’ that goes bump in the night. Ah’m an engineer, we’re good at doin’ that sorta thing.”

"I appreciate it" he said with a smile. "What's our next stop?" Adiff asked looking over at the Ensign.

Jenna really had wanted to check out one more location, but it wasn’t that critical if she were being honest, more a personal interest, so she smiled at the Bolian instead, “Home, doctor, let’s go home.”
