Personality & Traits
General Overview | Tyler has always loved what he did for Starfleet and would give his life for his fellow crew. His parents were both officers and he had no problem following in their foot steps, hopefully all the way to starship command one day. He's been out of the role of Starfleet Officer and is going to have to learn to adjust quickly. He may be a little rusty at first, but knew what kind of man he was. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Tyler is an expert hand to hand combatant, in-fact he taught defense and close quarters combat at the academy before he retired. The Security/Tactical Chief turned Executive Officer was pretty dang good with a phaser as well. He adapts quickly to his situation so when he was tossed into the roll of First Officer he did what he had to do and stepped into the role. Driskill wasn't at all equipped to be in the medical department and glad there were doctors to patch folks up. He's iffy at some of the engineering stuff, but knows a lot of the basics. |
|
Ambitions | Tyler would like to continue to serve in Starfleet, now that he's back in it. | |
Hobbies & Interests | Tyler works out twice a day when time permits, loves practicing and learning new hand to hand techniques. Lifting weights, holo-deck time, non-synthohal drinks when he can get them and cigars. |
Personal History | Tyler Driskill was born and raised on a star ship. It wasn't really strange for a child to be born on a ship like the Galaxy Class star ship the Driskill's lived aboard while serving Star fleet on deep space missions. The family faced every trial the crew of the USS Clark. Tyler would be a teenager before the Clark made it's way back to Earth, the crew granted a short shore leave and the ship set for refits and upgrades. At seventeen Tyler decided to stay with his grandmother in San Francisco and apply for Star fleet Academy. He was accepted and over the next several years he would actually enjoy his time. Tyler made a lot of friend and made better grades then he expected to. It was his junior year he applied to the security and tactical division, he was accepted and fast tracked to catch up with the other students. Upon graduating Star fleet needed officers so no time was wasted and Ensign Driskill was one of many security/tactical officers assigned to the newly commissioned Prometheus class starship. Tyler was one of the junior officers who were under review to run the third bridge shift and man the tactical station. He wasn't the officer picked, but he did get his fair share of ground missions and a little time at the tactical station when one of the regular officers needed a break. The Hera saw plenty of battle in her years of service. As the years passed by the crew shuffled around and promotions were handed out, getting Tyler Driskill to Chief Security/Tactical Officer and the rank of Lieutenant. Tyler wore his rank pip proud and served his Captain and the Federation well.. Their first mission post upgrade they ran into the Borg, many of the crew were lost or assimilated in their battle with the cube. Commander Franklin the ships First Officer was one of those officers. Captain Hart ordered the MVA activated and Driskill he was her new XO. They were going to use their sections to keep the Borg busy while others retreated. Lucky for the few officers that stayed behind, their distress called caught the attention of a Klingon ship who jumped right in attacking the Borg. A few additional Federation ships showed up and they made quick work of the Borg. The Hera was towed back to a star base and the injured crew were cared fore. Tyler was asked to act as First Officer and Chief Security/Tactical Officer to Captain William Harrison, he agreed and was granted the rank of Lieutenant Commander and given transfer orders. The crew of the Sting Ray saw their fair share of tactical missions. The Defiant Class star ship was one of the few equipped with a cloaking device and managed to stay in the action for the next five years and the ever proud Commander Tyler Driskill was going to be recommended for a command of his own. He had served his Captain well until their way back to Star Base Fifty Five for the promotion the Sting Ray was hit out of no where with a Borg tractor beam. The Captain ordered Tyler to fire, but the Commander only stared at the view screen and the sight of the Borg ship had him froze in fear. Another officer relieved him of his station and they ended up breaking free from the tractor, but only after taking several round of fire from the Borg. The bridge of the Defiant Class ship was scorched and only emergency lighting was on. Lucky for the Sting Ray their engines were still on-line and they made a run for the star base. In an hour they arrived, the Borg dropped out of warp only a second after the Sting Ray and was met by fire from the star base and about a dozen other vessels. It was decided then that the Commander would be placed on leave for a few weeks while the case was investigated. He told the court everything he remembered and apologized over and over for his PTSD. The court ruled him grounded until he could be cleared by medical and consoling. Lucky for Tyler after about six weeks of counseling he was asked to teach close quarters combat at the academy. He agreed and was given the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Ten years would pass teaching cadets to protect themselves in a close quarters situation and starfleet weapons. Tyler looked in the mirror telling himself his talents were being wasted and he asked to re-join a star ship. His request were all denied until one day he was issued orders to gather his things and report to the USS Chimera. He started jumping up and down and screaming “shit” he had a huge smile on his face. Ships Executive Officer was the position assigned to him and he would be on the first shuttle out. |
