The Start of a New Day

Location: crew quarters, Valleroy family
Timeline: prior to "Preparing To Intervene"

Corey and Connor bounced around the quarters before heading to the dining table for breakfast. "So, where are we off to next?" Corey asked Mark,

"Well, looks like we're taking Tessa and Cass'e'Indira back home," Mark said. "Then we're probably going to take a look at what the area has to hold."

"They're leaving already?" Corey asked. "That's sad. They had some great stories to tell." He turned his attention to his breakfast.

"Yep," Mark nodded. "So I guess you'll miss them."

"It's not just that they tell cool stories," Connor said. "Corey's got a crush on Tessa."

Corey's head snapped up, his eyes going wide. "I do not!" he immediately protested, his face turning bright red.

"Mmm hmm," Connor said with a grin.

"I don't!" Corey said.

"You do," Connor said. "You just never acted on it 'cause you thought Louis would kick your butt if you tried anything."

"Uncle Mark, make him stop!"

"Now boys," Mark said, trying to hide a smile himself, "let's stop worrying about other people's love lives and finish up breakfast. There have been several new transfers, and a part of that is some new kids are on board. I'm sure your teacher would appreciate any help you could offer in getting them settled in."

The three quickly finished up and put their dishes back in the replicator to be recycled. Corey and Connor grabbed their school padds, and the three headed out.
